About Volunteer Center of Inner Wisconsin
United Way of Inner Wisconsin's Volunteer Center's mission is to "Mobilize and inspire people to utilize their talents to enhance our community."
We enroll organizations which have volunteer opportunities and recruit volunteers for general, specialized and targeted opportunities. Then we match volunteers with opportunities.
We are best known for Make A Difference Day, which is held annually in October. On Make A Difference Day, multiple volunteer opportunities are available for individuals, families, and groups who wish to volunteer. Most notably, we match volunteers to elderly individuals who need help raking. But many more opportunities are available that day, which may range from food collections to walking dogs for the Humane Society. Volunteers can also create their own volunteer opportunities and promote them through us. Watch this website for updates!
The Volunteer Center also recognizes volunteers during an annual "Volunteer Breakfast" in April; provides workshops to registered agencies on how to manage volunteers; and provides updated volunteer opportunities in a weekly column in the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune's Lifestyle section.
